Emilio Nares Foundation News
From the Director's Desk
 Dear Richard,

Richard and Emilio
With Spring almost here, we are gearing-up for the new season with events and programs.  Spring is a season  for  new beginnings, life, and hope.  We continue to support our families, aiming always to bring joy comfort and words of encouragement to those in need.  In our foundation every day  feels like spring, because in every action we take in benefit of others we celebrate Emilio's life and legacy as a new beginning.

A new beginning!Ronald McDonald House

Spring marks a new beginning!

We are excited to announce that ENF will be relocating to a new office in the newly built Ronald McDonald House in late spring.  We will all be witness to a positive change for the foundation. Expectations are high, and we can't wait for the opportunity to share and serve more families.  Our deepest appreciation goes to the Ronald McDonald House for sharing their home and making us part of the family.   Thank you!

Spring Celebration

ENF and the Ronald McDonald House will be hosting the annual Spring Celebration on March 28 in Presidio Park, in Mission Hills.  All the families residing at the house are cordially invited and we aim to make this event a success.  As is customary, food will be plentiful. Entertainment will be provided with special characters, crafts, an egg hunt and more.  All ENF staff and volunteers are eager to provide our families a much needed day of fun and games.  We'll be happy glad to share a bit of happiness and relaxation with participating families, even if it is for just one day.

Whale Watching Trip
Whale Watch Trip
Thanks to the generosity of Mona and David Zammit and the crew of the "Producer",  nearly 40 ENF family members and children in treatment for cancer at Rady Children's Hospital and Kaiser Permanente, enjoyed a once in a lifetime trip, to see humpback whales as they migrate north to their summer feeding waters. On Saturday, March 14,  ENF families departed from the port of San Diego and embarked in this beautiful and unforgettable odyssey.  ENF  provided  sack lunches for all the families to enjoy during their sea adventure. Once again,  Mona and David, thank you for making this trip possible.

Portraying our Volunteers

Maria Margarita Ibanez Volunteer of the MonthMaria Ibanez

Our programs would not be possible without the help of all of our wonderful volunteers. Maria Ibanez has been part of our volunteer team since June 2008 and has accumulated more than 100 hours of work in our Healthy Eating Program on Thursdays.  Her dedication and persistance make her a great asset to our foundation and we are glad she is part of our team.  Thank you Maria for all the effort you put in everything you do.

The entire ENF staff would like to thank our generous sponsors and donors for their support. These programs and events would not be possible without your generosity.

Sincerely,

Emilio with a crown
