April 19th 2010-----Boston Marathon

Boston Marathon Richard in Marathon During the 6th Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Richard earned his ticket to run the Boston Marathon, the place where Emilio, Diane, and Richard fought a courageous battle for survival against Leukemia. It's been nearly ten years since they all watched the runners pass by Emilio's hospital. Memories that will never cease, for in those few fleeting moments the three of them shared the togetherness that will last them a lifetime. Richard relives those moments constantly. At the time, it never entered their minds that God would allow fate to take the center of their universe, their only child, away from them. But it did. Though it will be just the two of them returning to Boston, both know that their precious angel will be pushing Richard along the route with resounding encouragement, as he always did, and cheering... "faster! Daddy, faster!"

RR Marathon

June 6th 2010-----7th Rock 'n' Roll Marathon

RR Marathon The Rock n Roll Marathon is one of the most important fundraising events for ENF. As important as this event is for the foundation, it means so much more to Richard Nares, founder and Executive Director of the Emilio Nares Foundation. This year marks Richard's 7th time running the San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon.

Race Across the Sky

August 14th 2010-----Todd's Race Across the Sky for Emilio

Please support San Diego's children with cancer and inspire our SDBC teammate in the Leadville 100 by giving to the Emilio Nares Foundation. SDBC member Todd Smith got the inspiration to register for the 2010 Leadville 100 mountain bike race from the powerful documentary film "Race Across the Sky." He didn't expect to pass the race's lottery registration, but did. On the same day Todd got the "shocker" race entry acceptance e-mail, he found a profound source of training inspiration while talking with his friend and fellow San Diegan, Diane Nares. Make a Donation Today. Please make a note that your donation is designated for "Todd's race". Thank you for your support.

August 2010-----5th Annual Camp Agape

Camp Agape Camp Agape San Diego is a place where children with cancer have a chance to be kids in a fun, activity-filled outdoor camp environment. Families will have the opportunity to unite and share with other families who are experiencing a similar situation in a relaxed setting. We understand how traumatizing a child's cancer diagnosis can be on the entire family. This weekend is about children developing self confidence while their parents seek support and encouragement. Camp Agape is hosted at the YMCA's Camp Marston in Julian with facilities including an athletic field, basketball courts, archery range, swimming pool, ping-pong tables, climbing tower and campfire area with fully trained camp staff.

team marathon Richard Nares to Run his 6th Rock 'n' Roll Marathon
On Sunday, May 31, 2009, Richard Nares ran his 6th Rock 'n' Roll Marathon not only to honor his son, Emilio, but to raise funds for the foundation. In the previous year's event, he finished in 4 hours and 59 minutes, and managed to raise an incredible $11,000 for the foundation. Knowing that so many people were behind him really helped Richard to push to the finish line. Those contributions directly support the many families that ENF helps on a daily basis with emotional and financial assistance, and help fund the Ride with Emilio transportation program. We all look forward to another successful run!
