Families spend many hours waiting for their children to receive medical treatment. Each week, ENF hosts popular classes in knitting, sewing, jewelry making and nutrition. These programs are not only fun and educational, but provide a much needed support group amongst parents and families.

Emilio's Snack Bags
In July 2009, ENF added a new program at Rady Children's Hospital. Each week 25 snack bags are delivered to the Hematology/Oncology infusion and treatment rooms. These bags contain water, low fat milk, fresh fruit, and whole grain crackers to serve children who often wait hours for treatment. Many parents with small children cannot leave their child's side. ENF snack bags provide a healthy alternative, to vending machine candy, cookies and soft drinks- this is just another way of ENF introducing healthy eating through Emilio's Snack Bags. |
